Toll roads
Are you traveling to Hungary with your own vehicle? Please note that you have to pay tolls to drive on the Hungarian and Austrian (depending on your personal route) motorways.
Austria
For the use of Austrian motorways (A-roads) and expressways (S-roads), motorists with a vehicle up to 3500 kg must pay a toll. There are various ways to pay the toll. You can choose between a physical vignette or a digital variant.
For more information, please visit the ASFINAG website.
Hungary
In Hungary this applies to all roads starting with M, such as the M1 and M15. This so-called e-vignette or e-Matrica must be purchased before you enter the motorway. There are no barriers - your license plate is checked automatically.
We advise you to do this in advance via this website. It is also possible to buy such a vignette on the spot. At the border and at petrol stations you will find sales points. These are indicated with signs that say 'vignette/matrica'.
Route planner
If you want to know how much toll you have to pay, you can go to the route planner of the ANWB . Enter your route and under 'travel costs' you will immediately see what you pay for a passenger car. Via the button below you will find the fastest route to our Formula 1 campsite.
